Stunning, sculptural (and really rather comfortable) teak chair, designed by Cees Braakman, and produced by Pastoe. Made in the Netherlands, 1950s.


The frame of the chair is made from solid teak, excepting the pierced, back splat, which is made with moulded, steamed bent, laminated teak. The inverted U shaped legs have canted back legs and mitred joints; they support moulded concave armrests. The legs are supported at the front and back with double cross stretchers. The seat and back of the chair is upholstered in the original black vinyl, and the chair still has its original brass domed, slotted screws.
