Dining table from McIntosh's Dunvegan Range.

This oval table is made of teak with mahogany edge. The apron is veneered in mahogany.

It extends using an internal leaf with a butterfly mechanism.

McIntosh Dunvegan Range.

McIntosh of Kirkcaldy in Scotland along with G Plan of High Wycombe were the two main makers of British contemporary dining furniture in the 1960s and 70s and both manufacturers are now the very essence of British Mid Century Modern. Despite an aesthetic that could be mistaken as Danish modern in the mid-century period, the company marketed itself, both at home and abroad, as proud Scottish firm that utilised traditional processes that employed local, highly-skilled cabinetmakers.
