Mehrnoosh Kazemi, Nithyasri Govindaraj, George Adams, Emilia Bazan, and Gerald Somovidis — for a contemplative exploration of the ties between identity and the natural world.
Each artist engages with the concept of roots, drawing from the physical grounding of trees and the invisible networks of ancestry, memory, migration, and place. Through painting, they explore how roots — both botanical and personal — anchor, define, and sometimes entangle us and how natural systems and human stories mirror one another.
“Rooted” reflects on the deep interconnection between self and environment, history and growth, inviting reflection on our evolving, complex and enduring relationship with the natural world.
