Have your furniture sympathetically nursed back to health by experienced and traditional craftsmen
Master Craftsmen and Restorers
Our workshop was established in 1938 by Matthew Crawford's grandfather, Robert Keyes, in Shoreditch, the then heart of Britain's antique and furniture trade. Our highly skilled and traditionally trained restorers provide a large range of services, including french polishing, carving, veneering, wood-turning, desk leathering, caning and
upholstery and are able to sensitively and sympathetically nurse your furniture back to health.
Only restoration that is strictly necessary is carried out - preferring to conserve whenever possible - ensuring that your furniture remains in as original a condition as is practicable, retaining its natural patination and continuing to appreciate in value. Our restoration company, also referred to as 'Matthew Crawford Furniture Restoration' is part of After Noah, the long established antique, vintage and mid-century furniture, furniment, homeware, gift and toy-shop based in Islington where we restore all the stock that passes through the doors, along with restoration commissions both large and small for private individuals, larger clients, museums & galleries.
Whether your furniture just looks a little sad and tired or you have incurred flood or water damage, cigarette burns, marks caused by heat or alcohol, scratches, chips, dents and breaks - using our wide range of restoration services means that you can have your antique, vintage and collectable 20th Century furniture nursed back to health by
experienced craftsmen. We will happily undertake commissions from the simplest chair repair to the most complicated restoration of a priceless family heirloom.
We provide free estimates to most London postcodes, without obligation. We can also provide quotations for the purposes of insurance claims and a valuation service for contents insurance and probate.
Collections and deliveries can be arranged between Monday and Friday from 9am until 5pm, by one of several lovely, specialist furniture-moving companies and you are also welcome to drop things off directly to our workshop 7 days a week - opening hours here.
We welcome enquiries from clients large and small and our current and past customers are many and varied, encompassing a large corporate base, which is amply complemented by thousands of private individuals.
