We want everyone who works with us at After Noah to know that they're valued members of our team - and that's one of the reasons we joined the Living Wage Foundation.

The London Living Wage

We're a family-owned and run company and have been trading for decades. We know that a lot of things go into making a successful business and one of the most important is the people we work with.

The people that work here care about After Noah and it shows. We all spend hours, days and weeks together and care about each other. We're friends and colleagues. As After Noah has grown and succeeded over the years in what you will all know, is an increasingly tough sector, it's only right that our staff should be recognised as an integral part of what we do.

We continually receive praise from our customers about how friendly, happy and helpful the team are and that makes people keep on coming back.

It's a virtuous circle.


It's not a fortune, but it's a help

The London Living Wage, as distinct from what the government refers to as the 'National Living Wage,' is independently calculated by the Living Wage Foundation. It's based on what employees and their families need to get by.

Whilst the London Living Wage isn't a fortune, it's certainly a step in the right direction and stands at almost 30% more than the minimum that the government has decided employers should pay by law.

Paying it isn't an act of selflessness on the part of After Noah, we do it for a number of sound and fair reasons:

…and that's the minimum

The London Living Wage is the minimum any member of staff gets paid to work here; many earn more. Valuing our staff means that people tend to stay with us (some people have been here for years!) - and less staff turnover translates into a more efficient, happy and successful company.

And money is only one factor; enjoying where you spend a third of your day is paramount - working, laughing, drinking quite a lot of tea and eating cake also helps.
