Nicholas Wesson has been working with a camera for the past fifteen years, including a decade immersed in the energy of the music scene. During this time, he produced editorial images for websites, magazines, newspapers and agencies, developing a strong visual instinct and a keen eye for the moment.
Since 2020, his practice has taken a more reflective turn. Inspired by the work of Chris Killip and Graham Smith, both known for their powerful documentation of life in the North East of England, Nicholas has shifted his focus towards documentary photography. His current work explores the changing character of post-industrial landscapes close to home. Through a thoughtful and observant approach, he aims to capture not only places, but also the subtle traces of history, community and transition embedded within them.
