Sales Assistant - Role Summary
Working at After Noah is a very interesting, busy, active, quite physical job and is unlike most usual retail positions. As a small family team, everyone mucks in, is sociable, friendly, collaborative, outgoing and prepared to put their hand to whatever tasks need doing.
There are elements of the role, especially as a new recruit, that fall into the category of a runner, ie, being moved around from role-to-role, as circumstances demand and will include door work, greeting customers, security, tea-making, refuse handling, etc.
Day-to-day other roles will include: serving customers, in person, on the phone & web, using computerised till & payment systems, unpacking & displaying stock, using ladders, pricing goods, paperwork & filing, carrying and lifting of stock, inc. furniture & accepting deliveries and cleaning, including staff areas, kitchen and bathroom.
You will be expected to learn and maintain a good knowledge of the goods in the shop.
Dress code is relaxed, aprons are available for any messier tasks.

Van Driver/Maintenance Person - Role Summary
We are currently looking to recruit someone to join our team as a van-driver and general facilities & maintenance person. The role will be split, as the need arises, between van driving/moving stock, to carrying out maintenance and improvement tasks in and around the shop & garden. Some basic work within our on-site restoration workshop may also be required.
You should be over 25 (the minimum age to be insured on our company vehicle) with a Full, clean, UK driving licence and at least 5 years driving experience, ideally some of it driving a van. You need to have a useful, working knowledge of basic hand tools, perhaps with a general interest and some experience in DIY. A can-do attitude, with no job being too small would be welcome. You'd need to be strong as there would be lots of lifting and carrying of furniture and boxes, some heavy.
Working at After Noah is an active, fulfilling job. As a small friendly, family team, no one is afraid to get their hands dirty, so be prepared to carry out a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to: moving and keeping an inventory of stock between our shop and various storage locations and onwards to customers, putting-up shelving, painting & decorating, moving displays, small amounts of gardening, cleaning and general maintenance, emptying bins, cleaning the kitchen and loos, box shifting and unpacking, working up ladders, clearing gutters, keeping our workshop tidy, sharpening tools, etc. The list goes on…
Some workwear will be provided, such as workshop trousers, steel boots and personal protective equipment where necessary.
