There are elements of the role, especially as a new recruit, that fall into the category of a runner, ie, being moved around from role-to-role, as circumstances demand and will include door work, greeting customers, security, tea-making, refuse handling, etc.
Day-to-day other roles will include: serving customers, in person, on the phone & web, using computerised till & payment systems, unpacking & displaying stock, using ladders, pricing goods, paperwork & filing, carrying and lifting of stock, inc. furniture & accepting deliveries and cleaning, including staff areas, kitchen and bathroom.
You will be expected to learn and maintain a good knowledge of the goods in the shop.
Dress code is relaxed, aprons are available for any messier tasks.
