Unusual steel and beech cabinet that houses a fold out table. Perfect for use in the kitchen, it would also make a great desk. Most probably nautical, 1940s, we suspect that this piece was made in America.

This fantastic cabinet is slim and would fit fairly snug against a wall, making it a great space saver, when the table isn’t in use. The carcass is made from polished steel, with the drawers, cupboard doors, and table made from stained beech. The cabinet has two cupboards on top, each covered with a tambour door, with a slim drawer below on the right. The drawer is baize lined and probably intended to house cutlery. The table folds away and is released by a lever on the side of the cabinet. When in use, steel legs drop down to support either end of the table. There is a concealed drawer in the left side of the table top.
