Description

G Plan ‘Fresco’ Dining Table Model 4385, designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins, and manufactured in the 1960s, in High Wycombe, England by E Gomme Ltd.

This classic, circular, wonderfully compact, dining table from G Plan extends to an oval using an internal leaf on a fixed butterfly mechanism. The table top is teak veneer on engineered board, and is edged in solid, moulded afromosia. It has solid teak, turned, tapering legs, coming off a mahogany apron.

The Model 4385 Dining Table was first launched in 1967, as part of G Plan’s ‘Fresco’ range, and would have been manufactured throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s. This particular piece has G Plan Red Label, which was primarily used between 1965-1975, dating it between 1967 and 1975. As well as being the perfect addition to a mid-century interior, the Model 4385's classic, simple lines will fit a range of design schemes.

The G Plan Fresco range was launched in 1966, and was primarily designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins. The initial design was inspired by the pop art motif of a circle, and the Danish Modern design movement, it was made in teak, with solid afromosia features, such as sculptured handles. Fresco became G Plan’s most successful range, continuing to evolve, with new additions added, throughout the 1970s, and still being sold in the early 1980s.

Table is currently waiting to be restored in our workshop.

Whilst this piece is in great condition, it is vintage, and as such have patination commensurate with their age.

Please note that due to the piece's age the internal leaves may be a slightly different colour to the rest of the table.
