G Plan oval extending dining table, model number 4388D, from the Fresco range.


Most probably launched around 1975, this model was designed by Victor Bramwell Wilkins, and manufactured in High Wycombe England by E Gomme Ltd. It was produced throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s.


Oval dining table that extends with an internal leaf on a fixed butterfly mechanism. Table surface is teak veneer on engineered board, with a moulded afromosia edge. The solid afromosia base is a play on the refectory style, with sweeping, curved feet, and a central stretcher between the legs. When extending the table, the top moves out along the base, which remains in one piece.

This table isn’t made to come apart but the base can be taken from the table top if necessary.


Table is currently waiting to be revived in our restoration workshop.

Whilst this piece is in great condition, it is vintage, and as such has patination commensurate with its age.
