Description
Compact oak desk, made in France, 1950s.
A diminutive, single pedestal desk, with an abundance of character; this piece has three drawers, an extending shelf, and a long, hidden shelf underneath its top. The desk has solid oak frame, and a floating, oak veneered, slim top with convex ends. Its single pedestal sits to the right and features three drawers with a solid oak, sliding, extension on top, that can be used as a temporary shelf. The sloping drawer fronts are made from solid oak and have machine dovetailed joints. The right hand pedestal is supported on solid oak legs, and the left side of the desk is also supported by solid oak, square, tapering legs. The desk is finished on the back, and so can be shown to a room.
This beautiful desk would fit perfectly within early twentieth, mid-century, and contemporary design schemes.
