Description

Anjuli baskets are naturally dyed, hand-spun, and woven with natural fibres by a dedicated NGO that empowers rural craftswomen. The off-white cotton fabric is skilfully stitched on a hand loom, while the goat leather handles are hand stitched and dyed using tree bark and vegetable extracts.

Inspired by the time-honoured Indra coil basket method, these baskets seamlessly blend tradition and function.

Sustainability

Nkuku use the raw materials of brass and iron in the creation of their collections. These materials can be easily recycled. Many of their products involve traditional hand loom weaving, metal sculpting and craftmanship, jewellery making, basket weaving, traditional carpentry and traditional pottery making. These artisan methods of production are naturally more sustainable.

Use & Care

To clean the item, you can use a mild soap and water on a soft cloth to wipe away any dirt. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Colour may fade in sunlight. Indoor use only.
